New York

Chip surprised me Wednesday morning with a trip to New York for my birthday (how on earth was I blessed enough to end up with him?!). He told me we were taking a little trip, but I had no idea where (I was assuming a bed and breakfast nearby) and I was beside myself with excitement when he told me.  (Yes, that means we packed Wednesday morning right before we left!  Both of us were working like crazy to tie up any loose ends before leaving town.)  I have been wanting to get some fresh inspiration for awhile, and that’s sometimes difficult to come by if you can’t get out of your regular routine.  Despite the crazy snow (thankfully, this city is much more prepared than Atlanta – we would have been stuck in our room with nothing but milk and bread since yesterday at 3 p.m. if this were home), we were able to stay out and shop until everything closed last night, and still keep our dinner reservations.  Because of the gorgeous, giant snowflakes that keep falling, my picture taking has been at a minimum, but I’ve been writing lots of notes, and below is a small handful of photos that I have managed to quickly snap.  Now it’s out to brave the snow once again -thank goodness for rain boots!

(Left to right: Store window at Louis Vuitton, jewelry at Bendel’s, darling little jackelope sculpture wearing a scarf at Anthropologie – wish I could take him home with me!, and stairwell in a boutique.  I should have taken a picture of one of the two, yes two, Magnolia cupcakes I indulged in yesterday . . .)

Ashley - Fun pictures! I love the little jackelope fella! (February 26, 2010 at 6:21 pm)
Daddy - Dictionary definition of vacation: a period of rest and freedom from work, study, etc. (Are you sure you are on vacation?) (February 27, 2010 at 12:51 pm)
jean harrison - Way to go Chip!!!! By the way, what flavor were the cupcakes? (February 27, 2010 at 2:29 pm)
