Beth wanted to have a sign made for her cousin, who will be getting married tomorrow!
(And here I must make a side note that the bride’s brother is Clint Zeagler, designer and founder of Pecan Pie Couture. He was a classmate of mine at Georgia Tech and his exquisitely unconventional and beautiful designs always left the professors wondering what in the world to do with him, but his senior thesis was a fantastic fashion show, produced entirely by himself, and he went on to study fashion in Milan, come back to Atlanta to launch his own very successful line, and now teaches design students at Tech about his cutting edge research, design, and ideas on merging technology with fashion. He knew what he was doing all along! I adore his t-shirts and their clever, Southern quips and beautiful tea stained colors with hand sewn details.)
Now back to the story. Beth, Clint, and Carolyn (the bride) shared the same grandmother, Nana, who I know had a profound impact on Clint’s life, and I’m sure the same is true for the rest of her grandchildren as well. Beth said when they were growing up and a bunch of birds would fly by, Nana would say “when birds fly in a pack and two are out front . . . they are going to a wedding!” In honor of that memory, she wanted a sign made for Carolyn depicting that scene along with her wedding date. Below is the final result, and the back of the sign says “the special ones we care about are always close in thought.” Ahh, it’s too sweet for me to handle!
Chip has declared this sign his favorite. Carolyn, best wishes to you, and I hope you love it!
